Wadi Bih Summit Hike: Ras al Khaimah.
This hike was led by Abdeslam of Adventure Extreme group as part of Nela’s birthday event.
Marked as difficult as some scrambling, steep continuous ascent and descent involved in loose scree and absence of any trail.
Moderate grade for experienced hikers.
I have hiked this trail in the past in 2 combinations.
1. During summer of 2021, as a one way hike from Wadi Bih to Wadi Shah via wadi Far summit, Mayya village and Wadi Far.

We started the Hike from Wadi Bih side.
This trail is recorded to include the first 2 kms of graded road access to the trailhead from the asphalted road.
First we drove from the asphalted road on the graded road that reaches to the Wadi and few houses scattered in the area.
We parked our vehicles near the village without blocking any local access roads.

On the hike, we gained quick elevation over a short distance.
Initially there is a bit stable terrain, big boulders with no trail around.
Soon it changes into very loose scree section with small pebbles, where you can see a faint trail going up all the way.
Its quite loose, good grip is needed every step.
We also passed through a very green Hidden Oasis towards Bih side within 1.5 kms of start of Hike. Pictures are uploaded in waypoints. |t can work as a good camping spot during winter times.
Once you pass the loose scree and the hidden oasis, the terrain changes into a very stable limestone rocky slope where you have good grip to walk up all the way.
This section is quite steep but very nice to walk on and the views are great.
Here and there you will find some trees for shelter.
Once up on the plateau, the hike still takes you up gradually till you reach the wadi Far summit plateau which is quite flat with a long slope.
The Views from the Summit of Wadi Far mountain are Spectacular.
From the Summit, You get to see Arabian Gulf, Ras Al Khaimah City, Wadi Bih, Wadi Shah, Jais Mountain and Yabana Mountain.
We walked further to the highest point of the plateau ridge to view jebel jais road, wadi Shah, wadi Far, Jebel Rahabah and the villages scattered around.
For this hike here is no need of any ropes or other equipments, at few places some climbing skills will be beneficial. Hiking poles will be of great help.
Depending on your own plan of Descent from the summit, you can plan either Wadi Shah or Wadi Far and park your cars accordingly.
You have many options from the summits.
1. Descend back to the starting point.
2. Hike up to Yabana and descend to Wadi Shah.
3. Descend to wadi Far.
4. Visit Takem and Helek villages at the plateau and return back or descend in Wadi Shah.
We descended back to our starting point by way of balcony walk along the plateau ridge which also gave us much needed shade too.
Overall this is a good enduring Hike. so please go well prepared.
Telephone network is spotty and limited.
