Project Jais #3: Al Rams RAK (Sea Level) to Jebel Jais UAE Summit ( Highest Point of UAE ) Hike. Ras al Khaimah.

Towards the end of 2020, I set myself a challenge to hike Jebel Jais from various directions and reach its True Summit at 1935 meters Peak, which Technically lies with our neighbours.
The challenge to self was to complete 5 Trails from various directions at the base of Jebel Jais mountain of various difficulties and elevation gains of upto 2200 meters well before my 50th Birthday in March 2021.

I managed to complete all the hikes in my list.

It should be noted here that there were not many well laid trails (such as Highlander) at that time, so there were rough routes too.

These trails were of various difficulties and elevation gains of upto 2200 meters.

I managed to complete all the hikes in my list well within the time.

I have been fortunate to be in the company of some Ace Hikers of UAE who taught me so much about Hiking, Terrain, Methods and Geography.
Abdeslam of Adventure Extreme group led us on this grand hike.

Adventure Extreme Group organised this Exploration hike classified as Hard, and indeed it was HARD. This is a One Way Hike. You need Cars at Start and End Point.
This was a purely exploration route with no trails whatsoever.

I suggest you not to attempt unless you are well prepared with suitable Fitness, Fit Team mates and other Logistics. The Path is simply out of bounds and rough.
As you climb up to the Jebel Rahabah tower at the top of the Jais, you can view the Jais road below, Wadi Shah, Samar Trail Villages and also Hidden Oasis etc.

There are lots of Steep exposed climbs on sharp rocks, many Passes that have to be crossed with risk, About 2000 meters elevation gain to reach the top. Most of the time we were scrambling on all Fours during the hike.

This hike should be tried by Fit Moderate Hikers with full preparation.
Please do not overestimate yourself or the surprises that the mountains throw at you.
