Hidden Oasis – Shah Peak – Bear Grylls Loop. Ras al Khaimah. (Wadi Route)
We hiked this trail to celebrate my 54th birthday and also birthday of my hiking buddy Agnal.
I graded this hike as Moderate on wikiloc (No plus option), but I grade here as Moderate plus as per my experience, but it can be seen as easier / difficult to individual hikers based on their climbing skills.
The reason being in the section between the hidden oasis and Shah peak, there is no trail and the route is through a valley with bit rough but scenic terrain.
There are also few climbs here and there where you need to use both your hands (safe area, if you are careful) and also there are 2 proper climbs which you can safely navigate.
Here short height persons may need assistance from tall persons. Ropes are not generally needed.
Please refer the pictures.
This hike loop mainly consists of 3 different trail sections.
1. Hidden Oasis standard route trail.
2. Exploration section between HO and Shah peak (with climbs)
3. Standard new trail from Shah peak to Bear Grylls.
You can park here. It is the popular Hidden Oasis parking along the Jais road.

I consider this Trail as suitable for the Moderate+ Hikers only due to the Demanding terrain, Elevation Gain and Distance.
We tried merge 2 Common Trails of Wadi Shah to Hidden Oasis and Wadi Shah Full Loop.
We started the hike through the popular Hidden Oasis trail all the way till the Hidden Oasis.
There are many trails recorded for this section on my profile and here on this website.
The post below will give you more information, if you need it.

From the Hidden Oasis, we took rightwards along the visible trail.
Here at the end of the flat area, the trail turns extreme rightwards (visibly) towards the slant balcony section and further to the Sham mountain and further to Musaibat village.
We did not take that section !
From the intersection, we walked few more meters and entered the valley to normal right and it will lead you all the way through the valley full of smooth terrain, stairs type formations, boulders, some normal walls that can be climbed, some walls that need to be climbed with good technique (but safe) and finally you will get out of the valley onto the mountain surface slope where you can see the peak.
Somewhere at midpoint of this Wadi, you will encounter a vertical wall that needs manual climbing.
You can avoid it by bit backing up and climbing on the mountain section in the left by way of a balcony and you will reach the higher section of the wadi. You can scout around for other options.
Please note, I have climbed the walls on this trail recording.
Then the route leads up towards the Wadi Shah Summit Peak at 1125 Meters Elevation.
You will reach the well popular Highlander trail here that crisscrosses the mountain.
From the Shah Peak, the views of surrounding areas and mountains are impressive.
You can see Jebel Yabana, Jebel Jais, Shahha Village, Jebel Rahabah, Omani mountain range and few valleys.
From the summit, there are options to continue further towards Jebel Jais, Wadi Lahsa, Musaibat village etc from from the summit point.
You may refer my wikiloc account or other posts here on the topic.

Afterwards, we descended Eastwards into Wadi Shah via the well laid new trail (since 2023).
There are 2 villages with few terrace fields and farms.
Most of the time, there are no people around.
This Route is part of the Standard Wadi Shah full Loop Trail. (Reverse)
You can refer the trail below for Wadi Shah section if in need of more information.

We reached back to the cars through the Wadi via the Bear Grylls camp and further walk towards carpark.
This section of Wadi is beautiful, and the route is clearly visible.
