The Hidden Oasis is locally called as Sal Shuha, a UAE local man told me today.

In the past ( 2 years ago, 2021) the trail to Sal / Hidden Oasis was full of bouldering, challenges and part trail.
Thanks to a new Dam construction in that Wadi, the initial 3 Kms ( from Bear Gryllls) of the trail has been converted into offroad.

From the Dam, the offroad ends and RAKTDA has laid the trail to the Hidden Oasis, the Shahha village and till the Jais road on the top with a proper trail and made it safe for everyone.

In the process, the Moderate hike is now become Beginner Plus.
This particular trail made the Hidden Oasis greenery accessible to everyone.
Happy Hiking !!

We parked our car at Jebel Jais road, small exit about 1 km after Bear Grylls.
The area is marked with a board “Lahsa”
There is enough place to park about 10 cars in an orderly manner.

You could also drive down on that offroad and park in the lower area if needed.

From here, we descended into the offroad that leads to the new Dam under construction.
We soon left the offroad and connected to the high balcony trail on the right that is scenic, but due care should be taken if hiking in the dark.
We walked about 1.5 Kms till we reached the Dam.
This walk will give a a needed warm up for the hike.

If you see my return path, you will see that we walked wholly on the dusty offroad..
I always prefer the balcony walk in this section.

Basically you have options to either walk by the dusty offroad or hike via the balcony scenic section. ( study my return segment to understand what I mean )

Once after the Dam, the offroad further leads to the end of the road and then the trail starts which is well laid with trail, steps and path.
You simply can’t get lost.

It takes about 1.5 Kms to reach the Hidden Oasis plains while you gain altitude slowly.
There is no bouldering at all, you can walk all the way up.

Once we reached the green grass area of hidden Oasis, we had a short rest.
This can be your nice Picnic spot. There are many date trees to provide you shade.

Later, we further continued to the Shahha village at higher elevation in the left, actually the trail is well laid and connects to the mountain steps section all the way to the village.
The views of the oasis are beautiful and impressive from the top.
You can refer the pictures.

The trail continues to the mountain that connects to the last parking area on the Jebel Jais road, but we decided to return back to wadi Shah area.
There are also options from Shahha village to hike eastwards to 7 villages trail, Musaibat village or connect to Highlander 2022 trail.

On our way back, we took the link to the offroad at the Dam itself and hiked down.
You can follow this trail , if you like to hike up via the balcony section, which is more scenic.
Make it a point to include this section, either during ascent or descent.

Overall a good beginner plus hike in winter and in summer too provided all care is taken.

Even if the actual hike distance is short, be prepared with all required precautions, water and other factors.

Be safe, prepare well, Do not over estimate and enjoy your moments in the middle of nowhere.
Take back all your rubbish with you.
