Shahha 5 Villages Loop ( Hidden Oasis Circuit). Ras al Khaimah.

A small group of us friends hiked In Wadi Shah area as a Hidden Oasis circuit trail connecting 5 villages in the area using existing/ new trails laid by RAKTDA in 2022.
Part of this trail is from Highlander UAE 2022 event held in November 2022.

We viewed the green Hidden Oasis from various viewpoints of the mountains from around it.

THANK YOU RAK !!

The views are superb.
The trail quality is very good and nice experience.

We connected
1. Sal Shuha (Hidden Oasis)
2. Shahha Village.
3. Dakkadwah village
4. Qusaidah village.
5. Musaibat village.

It was 16 Kms hike loop with 900 meters elevation gain. (This recording has error in elevation gain showing 1300 meters, it should be 900 meters )
We completed the Hike within 8 hours with decent pace.

We started from the start point of Hidden Oasis route.
we parked somewhere here.

Most of this hike is a well laid, visible and safe trail.
The whole hike was safe, no ropes business, no bouldering, and gradual inclines.

The main ascents are in sections ie 1. Hidden Oasis and 2. Staircase to Shahha village.

Overall this hike is a nice one with great views of Jais area, Jebel Rahabah, Jais lower trails, Wadi Shah loop, Yabana mountain etc.

Shahha and Musaibat have active life around with goats and caretakers.
Other villages are in disused condition and in ruins.

Even fit beginner hikers can doo this hike and worse case scenario, you could choose to return back from 2nd village of Shahha instead of going the full loop.

Be safe, prepare well, Do not over estimate and enjoy your moments in the middle of nowhere. Take back all your rubbish with you.

Grade: Moderate

Base Village: Wadi Lahsa Wadi Shah

Range: Jebel Jais.

Indeed this loop trail is wonderful, good to manage with family and friends. It’s seems long compared to other trails in RAK mountains, but because of the well prepared track it is easy to follow and allows (if you like) quicker walk. As described the main inclination is from Hidden Oasis to Shahha Village, then followed by a longer track connecting the villages mostly at same height level. You can get nearly all impressions of the RAK mountains – greenery, old villages, amazing views far and into the valleys -. I loved the trail, thanks Patrick for your guidance and knowledge of the area.

The most surprising memory from this hike was to see people living over a decade on the top of these Mountain villages with absolutely nothing around!!! The shepherd we met at the village was kind enough to make Chaai for all of us. It is so satisfying to walk up miles above and have that cup of chai in the end to satisfy your soul! 😛

Thanks Pandiyan. Yes, those farmhands have a difficult job and lifestyle.
